About 18 months ago I wrote
this little ditty for our good friends at PSFK. It was on a project called grimetapes.com which was being supported by the Arts Council of Britain to help archive many of the recordings that came out of the early grime-scene. Well I went to check it out a couple of days ago to see if there was anything new, there isn't. Looks like Grime Tapes didn't renew there web-page (probably as the Arts Council have had their budget napalmed). Thankfully The Wire recently posted
these old-school recordings to fill the void.
Highlights include an EZ & MC Rankin mix from 1998, Pay-you-go vs Heartless from 2001 and a now classic Milton Keynes jam from DJ Slimzee with Wiley and Dizzee Rascal.
Epic stuff.
