As reported earlier, YOSHIKI has gotten together with ASIA GIRLS COLLECTION producer Jay FR for the one of Japan's biggest fashion events, the ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION, which will be held on March 6th at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo.

It has been revealed that YOSHIKI will of course be arranging all contents concerning music, and that for Violet UK performance SUGIZO will also be taking part in the event. Moreover, the Australian duo DJ NERVO will also be participating as a music act.

On top of that, and to show an even more international appeal, Marilyn Manson will also attending the fashion show, however, not as a musician with a live performance, but as a model.

On the stage, which will be featuring Japanese top designer and stylists, YOSHIKI himself, will be presenting his own brand "YOSHIKIMONO". With a focus on Japanese street fashion and the so called "real clothes", this event is meant to be the explosion, its name predicts, with a show mix uniting music and fashion in the widest sense.

Earlier today, hundreds of stars walked the red carpet for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

There were those who looked stylish and those who didn’t, but among the stylish was X Japan’s Yoshiki.

He made his way down the carpet in a stylish modern black suit and a cool pair of shades.

YOSHIKI & ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION Fashion Event

Yesterday, on February 8th, YOSHIKI had been holding a press conference in Tokyo to present his newest collaboration project in the fashion industry. Together with TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION producer Jay FR, YOSHIKI will be working on the next biggest fashion event "ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION", which will be held on March 6th at Yoyogi National Stadium First Arena.

The fashion show, which will focus on music as well, will feature a large cast of international models and present the so called "real clothes" fashion brands from outside Japan.

When being asked, what his view on clothing was, YOSHIKI answered: "Fashion has always been the most important aspect of my career. My parents had a kimono store and with the "YOSHIKIMONO" it is like going back to the roots now. However, there is no meaning in music without fashion and there is no meaning in fashion without music."

"The concept is always the challenging when it comes to new projects", YOSHIKI answered the question about the most demanding aspects. "Fashion shows and concerts are similar, yet they are also very different."

Jay FR also added with a laugh: "I always wonder if he will be getting up in time in the morning for the meetings."

"I am weak in the morning", YOSHIKI commented laughing towards the comment of his fellow producer, who he had apparently met only by chance and similarly gotten to work with.

The ASIA GIRLS EXPLOSION will follow the TOKYO GIRLS COLLECTION event on March 5th and is also meant as a prelude to the "ASIA GIRLS FESTIVAL" following up next.

X Japan’s “ToshI Feat.YOSHIKI” announces special dinner show + new songs

On November 22nd, X JAPAN’s vocalist ToshI held a press conference to announce a special dinner show event, featuring the new project unit, “ToshI Feat.YOSHIKI“. The shows, titled “ToshI Feat. YOSHIKI with Sekai no Mikuni special concert & dinner“, are to run for January 24th and 25th in 2011.
The dinner show is appearing to be quite the high-end affair. The most expensive ticket for the show will be sold for ￥100,000 (approximately $1,199), marking “ToshI Feat. YOSHIKI”s event as the most expensive dinner show in Japanese history.
One of the reasons for this high price is that the dinner will be prepared by Mikuni Kiyomi, one of the most famous chefs in the world for French cuisine. The show will be also be supplemented a 30-member orchestra.  Moreover, there will be a piano duet between ToshI and YOSHIKI (a first for the bandmates), and other X JAPAN members will be making their appearances as special guests.
ToshI also announced that “ToshI Feat.YOSHIKI” will release two new songs, “Crystal piano no Kimi” and “Aisuru Hito yo“ in January; they will naturally be performed during the dinner show.

YOSHIKI : Diganosed with Hyperthyroidism

It’s been reported that X JAPAN’s leader, YOSHIKI, who is currently on tour in the U.S, has been diagnosed as Hyperthyroidism. (Hyperthyroidism is the term for overactive tissue within the thyroid gland causing an overproduction of thyroid hormones: from wikipedia)

According to Oricon style, YOSHIKI found out last year when he took surgery for his back, but he did not tell any of his staff. On October 5th however, he was found passed out at his hotel room in Chicago. His doctor says that YOSHIKI gets tired much easier than regular people because of his illness.

Although YOSHIKi will need to keep taking treatment, he will not cancel the performances for his tour.
