On January 19th, SOPHIA has scheduled the simultaneous release of 3 albums and a DVD! The albums will actually be collections of their work so far, focusing mainly on the singles. You can read the details for each below:
“All Singles ‘A’” will be exactly what it sounds like. It’s a triple CD set with every single the band has ever done amounting to 35 tracks total. It costs 3,800yen (which is really not a bad deal) and you can pre-order it through CDJapan through the link at the beginning of the paragraph.
“All B-Sides ‘B’” will be 2-CD set of all the B-sides from every single totaling 30 tracks in all. It will also cost 3,800yen and come with a first-press bonus.
“All 1995-2010” will actually be a box set of both “All Singles ‘A’” and “All B-Sides ‘B’” which means you get 65 songs total. This one’s a bit more expensive, costing 7,000yen but, again, it’s a pretty good price for 5 CDs.
Now, on to the DVD. “philosophy-VIII” will be just one DVD featuring every music video starting from April 2005 (“ANSWER – Ichiban Tadashii Kotae”) to January 2010 (“Machi – 15th Anniversary ver. -”). It will also come with the music video for “End Roll.” This DVD will be 3,990yen and come with a first-press mystery bonus.
I suppose this is the band’s way of showing that they’re just about ready to get back on schedule now that Miyako is doing so much better. They’re first live so far is being scheduled for summer 2011 but no other details have been released yet.
